Spring Fashion Faves!

Hello lovelies. I know this post was supposed to go up last week but I had some health issues with my back. Luckily, it is feeling so much better with only minor pain. With that said, I have been so excited for Spring to arrive! Spring brings forth so much happiness for me! The flowers start blooming, the temperature is warm but not boiling, and my birthday is also in Spring…I am hoping to purchase a bike with part of my tax income and do some biking around Stafford since where I live is too dangerous to bike ride (only because you could get ran over). But I am also excited for the Spring Fashion! This year, my goal is to create my dream vintage closet and accessories and I am surely going to start with the spring season!
e5de24fb-e87f-4ddb-b179-8ca75ca17a4e_zps2f3b3b1dLike I said, my goal is to go for a more vintage look this year and I am dying for some bold patterns and my goal is to become more comfortable in dresses and skirts! So, hopefully when I finally decide to start doing look books and outfit of the days…you will start to see me in more dresses and what not. BUT ANYWAYS, here are some pieces and patterns that I am looking forward to wearing in Spring this year!

9463cde8-02ed-4c34-a1f6-2180c0b79589_zps7cd06250Ah, how I love Peter Pan Collars! They bring a certain cute touch to a blouse or shirt. If they have a touch of lace, it makes it even better! Another silly love of mine are polka dots. It is a timeless pattern that I can’t help but want to buy any piece that features it. People may call me childish because of it, however Peter Pan Collars and Polka Dots are wonderful for Spring and can cute-ify any outfit you have!

58c9d820-b01d-4629-8dc2-3564600c3001_zpseb24c078One thing I feel will ALWAYS be a Spring necessity is floral prints. Spring is definitely the right season to wear ALL your floral patterns because flowers are beginning to bloom as well. Plus, floral prints can make an outfit pop and it is always fun to mix and match colors with those on the flowers! One thing I love floral prints on are dresses. It seems like a perfect match! The flow of a dress accentuates the floral pattern and really seem to symbolize Spring itself. One of my goals is to purchase a floral dress this season just because of this reason!

91f634bf-f96a-461c-b593-8c7948360b1f_zps94a27a03If you haven’t noticed by now…oxfords are possibly one of my all time favorite fashion trends. They are perfect for Spring and Fall and can bring a vintage touch to any outfit. I have also been in love with wedges recently as well, so oxford wedges are like a dream come true or a match made in heaven. They are such a simple addition to an outfit but can bring such a huge positive impact as well! If you are starting to build a vintage wardrobe, I promise you that oxfords are easy to find and perfect for you!

Well, that is for today everyone! Hopefully now that my income tax is coming in, I can afford an HD camcorder and film a lookbook for you all! And more videos for that matter…but I am so happy my back is starting to ease up pain wise. Which means posting will not be as difficult. I am excited for Spring though! What are some of your fashion favorites for the Spring?

OH! I wonder…did you notice the new banner! Anthony actually designed it for me and I am very excited about it! He did an amazing job and it fits me so well. And it features photography from Wen McNally, a family friend. If you would like more information on either Anthony or Wen, feel free to contact me by hitting that little “contact” button up top and let me know! I will give you their contact info ASAP! But, I prefer serious inquiries only.

Anyways, I hope you enjoyed this post! Like I said, I am hoping to make a Spring lookbook or¬†Spring outfit videos as soon as I get my camcorder. So, I hope you all have an amazing rest of the week and weekend. Stay safe & remember to Live. Laugh. & Smile. ūüôā

Soft & Silky Hair Mask
As I said before, avocados are great for your hair since they act like a moisturizer. This recipe is bound to give your hair all the yummy nurtients that it needs and is perfect for dry and damaged hair! (Plus the ingredients are easy to find!)
1 Ripe Avocado
1 Egg Yolk
1/2 Teaspoon of Extra Virgin Olive Oil
1 Disposable Shower Cap
First, remove the avocado skin and pit and mash the insides.¬†Then whisk the egg yolk and olive oil until it well mixed. Once you’re pleased with the consistancy, apply the mask into your hair starting from the roots to your ends. Once all of your hair is covered and even, go ahead and put on the shower cap and leave it on for 30 minutes.¬†After that, take a nice warm shower and be sure to shampoo and condition your hair. Your hair should feel silky, smooth, and soft!

Hydrating Face Mask for ALL Skin Types
Avocados are perfect for all skin types. This recipe is to hydrate your skin and help prevent acne and aging! There only two ingredients for the recipe however, if you have oily skin, Beautylish added two optional ingredients that may help you a little bit more.
1/2 Ripe Avocado
1 Teaspoon of Extra Virgin Olive Oil (or Vitamin E Oil)
1 Teaspoon of Fresh Lemon Juice (Optional for Oily Skin)
1 Egg White (Optional for Oily Skin)

What’s In My Bag?

Hello everyone! AHHH, it feels good to be in a new comfy chair. It makes it so much more easier to work with. So, I hope you all enjoyed the first video from the SimplyTaylorRae YouTube Channel. It was far from good quality, but I was so excited and went ahead and just used my webcam until I get my HD camcorder. I am also starting to think it is time to invest in an HD camera as well. But that will be income tax present. ANYWAYS, today is going to be on a subject that every female and possibly even male blogger has touched on. WHAT IS IN MY BAG. I was tempted not to do it because I wanted to wait until I could do a video to accompany it and have fantastic pictures, but I thought…WHY NOT? I can always update later anyways and might as well? HERE WE GOOOOO!!!

DSC00642_zpsd6373200So I suppose I should start off with my bag. This purse was a Christmas gift from Anthony in 2011 and it has possibly been the best bag I have ever had.¬† It is freakin’ HUGE and for me, I tend to carry a lot of stuff in my bag so it was perfect.¬† It has also held really good and is going into it’s 2nd year of use looking fantastic. I love this bag so so so so much. I highly recommend Coach bags. Just sayin’. Shall we move on?

All the items I currently had in my bag are numbered! So let’s start with Numbero Uno!
#1: This small pouch actually carries my ridiculously big prescription sunglasses. The pouch was a Christmas gift from a friend and it came with like three other medium and large pouches, so it was truly a great gift I must say…
#2: This pouch holds my iPods and my handkerchief…why do I put them in the same pouch, I have no clue. ALL CUTE THINGS GO TOGETHER. But the handkerchief is Hello Kitty and super cute and the pouch features floral, polka dot, and strawberry patterns…A.K.A. EVERYTHING I LOVE. Plus, the handkerchief and pouch were¬†a gift from a friend who went to Japan for a couple weeks. So, it is something I cherish dearly.
#3: If there is one thing I can’t stand, it’s when you have pens or pencils in your purse making marks on the inside. I hate it. So, I have a pencil pouch where I keep my pens and pencils in so that doesn’t happen. This pouch was a gift from a Japanese exchange student we hosted in California. I wonder if she will be surprised that I still use it?
#4: This is my beautiful Cath Kidston wallet I bought from ASOS.¬† I immediately fell in love with the pattern and the size…it fits so much, yet can fit in my tiny red ModCloth bag as well. I have also gotten many compliments on it, so I feel this was a great buy.
#5: CHAPSTICK. A person’s best friend, I swear. My lips have been terrible this season, so I have chapstick in every bag I own. The chapstick in this bag is Blistex Simple & Sensitive. Hypoallergenic is AWESOME.
#6: Car keys. I live 45 minutes from my job, an hour from my college, and 30 minutes from general civilization. My car is necessary.
#7: My Check Book. Yes, I write checks. I am shocked when I hear people my age say they don’t know how to write a check…I find it useful when I lose my one and only credit card and have no other means for paying for stuff. It’s a safety precaution, honestly.
#8: My iPhone and iPod. I will not lie, I cannot live without these two items. I keep on schedule with these items. I like to mess with photography and listen to music with these items. They help me keep on track and all that jazz…plus the Navy Federal App is nice.
#9: Yet another pouch…this is my feminine hygeine products pouch. Need I explain? The pouch I purchased in Wajima, Japan in a market. It’s held up remarkably I must admit.
#10: I have been finding it necessary to carry a book around now. I am constantly finding random time to read nowadays and there are two books I am IN LOVE with: The Ingredients of Love & Howl’s Moving Castle. I can’t stop reading! But, maybe that’s a good thing…

Well, there you have it everyone! It was a rather short post…however, I am hoping to post again tomorrow night since I will have much more free time to do so after classes. After I get my HD camcorder, you bet this will filmed! But, I must say good night rather quickly! I hope you all have a fantastic week, stay safe, be blessed, and remember to cherish simplicity!
Thanks for reading~! ‚̧

SimplyMe: Singing VS Blogging

Hello everyone! What a fantastic week it has truly been. We celebrated my father’s retirement on Saturday and boy, was it a blast! 20 years in the Marine Corp. and he was thrilled to finally retire. Aside from that, I’ve been doing some shopping along with school and work of course. So I am thrilled to be typing on my own laptop. Anyways, last night marks the beginning of the SimplyTaylorRae.Com YouTube Channel! I was beyond excited when I uploaded the video…my heart just about popped out of my chest!

WITH ALL OF THAT SAID….I NOW PRESENT TO YOU THE VERY FIRST VIDEO FROM THE SIMPLYTAYLORRAE.COM CHANNEL
