It’s been such a crazy week but it is beginning to settle down. Anthony and I have been engaged for officially a week and people are still finding out, but it’s not too big of a wave now. We’re in the process of planning our engagement party which is really just an excuse to have our families come together and get to know each other better as well as see my family from Winchester who I rarely see now thanks to work. I’m excited and my heart is fluttering constantly. I am thinking about documenting the different processes of my wedding planning and I am wondering if we will be able to take video of the engagement shoot somehow…so tempting. But right now it’s just relaxing this year and enjoying the engagement before the stress of planning becomes overwhelming. But I will be attending the Bridal Showcase in Fairfax on September 8 with my parents, so I will probably document that too. ANYWAYS, let us move on to recent events…
Last Sunday was Father’s Day and unfortunately, I had to work but I got off at 6:30 so I was home just in time for dinner and I got my dad a gift card (he told me not to get a gift, but I felt he deserved something!!) and a really cool card that didn’t give me enough room to write in it…so it went sideways and slanted in areas. Yeah, great card I must say. I also got him some Reese’s cups since those are his favorite candy and what not! The next day, me and my mom went out to lunch to celebrate her birthday since Anthony and I were in Maryland all day on Tuesday. She ordered the biggest margarita as possible and surprisingly drank it all. Thank goodness I was driving…but we had a wonderful Mexican meal and she loved her gifts! I got her Coach shoes and Anthony got her a “South Park” Stan doll. It was definitely a great time.
This is the best thing that ever happened to me…before Anthony proposed. So, when I found out that Animal Crossing: New Leaf was finally released in the US, I also found out that there was a limited edition 3DS XL with an Animal Crossing print on it and I immediately fell in love. Unfortunately for me, I only had the DSi XL which is unable to play 3DS games…so I was pretty willing to buy this baby in a heartbeat. ONLY TO FIND OUT: It was sold out. SUPPOSEDLY. So while I was out with mom for her birthday, Anthony called me and said that he had found THE LAST ONE IN VIRGINIA that a customer no longer wanted and never picked up in RICHMOND and the GameStop clerk was willing to hold it for us for that day only. That’s about an hour from where I live, so it’s quite a drive. He tells me that if I transfer the money to his account, he’ll go and pick it up for me. After 15 minutes of debate, he drove to get it and I transferred the money. BEST DECISION EVER. I absolutely love it. I love the console, I love the game, I love everything about it and I cannot stop. Only downside is that it won’t accept my wifi, which is rather weird but okay with me because I never played the old Animal Crossing games with internet anyways. But the game is addicting and I have literally been playing it every day. Anthony says it was a fine investment to drive and get it because it lets him rest while I play my video games and brings a smile to my face (d’awwww!).
Last, but not least: I had lunch with my best friend in Annandale and did some bakery/goody shopping. I have had a terrible sinus infection with the random rain and mold and I am constantly clogged up. So, I felt that some spicy Korean food was necessary to clear me out even if for a couple hours. So, we went to Shilla’s Bakery and picked up some baked goods and pastries and then made our way down to Yechon for some Chicken Teriyaki for her and Doenjang Jjigae for me. Am I the only one who puts my rice in my jjigae? During our trip, I actually asked my best friend if she would be my Maid of Honor for my wedding…and she said YES!!! I was so happy and excited and she was too and it was like a match made in heaven because after I asked her, she was like “DISNEY BACHLORETTE!” and I knew it was meant to be. So after our delicious lunch, we went next door to Breeze Bakery and bought some more pastries and I also treated us to a fruit tart and an iced green tea latte. I swear, Breeze has the best green tea latte and fruit tart I’ve ever had. So fresh and delicious. AHHHH. I’m craving.
So that’s been the past two weeks! I’m trying to think of anything exciting that will be happening soon and so far, I’m not too sure. But I may post a review on this Korean brand of sheet masks I’ve been using lately. Either that, or I’ll post about my night time routine since my morning routine is rather LAME. I need to do more health and beauty posts!!
