H O L Y CRAP GUYS.

5 MOTHER FREAKIN’ YEARS.

I CAN’T PROCESS THE EMOTIONS I AM FEELING WITH THIS.

Who honestly would’ve thought this would be happening?! This is just too much for me…and I have so much to say and hopefully I am able to convey my feelings properly through just a post. First off, here’s the top 5 accomplishments over the last 5 years!

accomplishments

There are days where I feel like in the last 5 years, I haven’t accomplished as much as maybe other bloggers or writers may have but looking back on it now…I feel as though I should be proud of even the little accomplishments.

ACCOMPLISHMENT #1: 32,000+ Total Views & 23,900+ Total Visitors

I remember at some point within my first 3 years of blogging, I was obsessed with views and subscribers to the point where I became frustrated and unmotivated to continue. I then made a decision to NEVER look at my view count and today, for the first time in what feels like years…I looked and I am so so thankful for each view and each visitor. I never would’ve imagined 32k views and 23.9k visitors. You guys are so amazing, each and every one of you.

ACCOMPLISHMENT #2: 175 Posts (not including this one…)

Today, I was looking through my first couples years of blogging and realizing how uninspired and generic a lot of my posts were. I had tried to fit into what maintain bloggers in the area did so I could get “famous” and popular. Needless to say, that’s changed over the last two years. I’ve found myself posting things that interest me or personal projects and it’s become easier to write.

ACCOMPLISHMENT #3: 123 Subscribers!!

To every single subscriber; thank you. Thank you for continuous support of Simply Taylor Rae whether you’ve been a subscriber for a few years or relatively recently…thank you so so much. You guys are honestly wonderful and there are no words to describe how I feel about your support over the years. Thank you.

ACCOMPLISHMENT #4: Sponsored 4 Times!

I admittedly began blogging for the fame and sponsorships, but I was quick to realize that expecting those things from the get-go was unrealistic and awful of me. This was supposed to be a place for me to share tips and personal things and just have fun. Needless to say, I have had a change in perspective since then…but to those who were kind enough to sponsor me; YesStyle, Fanatics, Kabbage, and Museum Hack, thank you for supporting me and my website. You guys are truly awesome.

ACCOMPLISHMENT #5: Five Years Later

Never in my life did I imagine blogging for five years. I have wanted to stop many times. I wanted to give up. But between my family, my fiancé, and my friends along with those who subscribed and visit…you guys kept me going. You’ve encouraged me to keep writing, keep taking pictures, start a YouTube channel, and keep progressing to bigger and better things through Simply Taylor Rae. Speaking of progressing to bigger things…

special announcement

SAY HELLO TO DJ TAYLOR RAE

That’s right!! I have been practicing to become a DJ and I am set to make my debut in 2018! If you have been following my social media accounts; you would probably have known this for about a week or two. I can’t wait to enter this exciting chapter of my life and while I’m no where near a pro yet, I hope one day to make it to the big leagues.

Here are some specific things to address with the DJ announcement;

  • No specific debut date in 2018 yet.
  • I plan on focusing more on Vocaloid EDM, however other genres are not completely out of the question.
  • There will be live streamed mix sets; those will be announced via social media.
  • Mix sets and mixtapes will more than likely be uploaded to SoundCloud and/or YouTube.
  • There will be a page dedicated to DJ Taylor Rae added to the website shortly.

I can’t wait to share my progress and experiences with you all.

future

To be quite honest…I am still unsure of what the future holds for myself as well as the longevity of Simply Taylor Rae. While I hope it can go on forever, I also want to be realistic. At this point, I can’t guarantee a post every week or even every two weeks at this point let alone videos…but I want to try and continue to provide quality content that both I and you, as readers enjoy. I want to try hard to be the very best blogger and DJ I can be as well as a person in general.

Needless to say, thank you guys. You’ve made this 5 year journey worth while. Here’s to another 5 and more. I love you all so much.

Thanks for Reading~! ❤

Hatsune Miku 【Magical Mirai 2016】 Nendroid Review

Well hello!

It feels like it’s been ages. So many things have happened lately…( ꒪Д꒪)ノ My little sister got married, I ran another 5k, and I’m in the middle of my summer semester at school. It’s been hard finding time to actually relax and work on videos and posts. BUT TA-DA; I MADE IT HAPPEN TODAY.

Nendroid Title

Last week, I received a long awaited package in the mail from Good Smile Company. After being delayed around three times, the Magical Mirai 2016 Nendroid has made it home!

nendroid box

nendroid roundabout

Unboxing this cute patootie was filled with so much anticipation and indescribable weeb noises that I just could not contain myself.  First off, the hair looks flawless and was painted beautifully. I love the modest gradient they achieved because it gives the hair more depth in my opinion. (*’∀’人)♥

nendroid details 1

nendroid details 2

Now, ya’ll know that as much as I love my figures regardless, I am always looking at those T I N Y details because that’s how you know they were made with love. And by God, this Miku was made with a lot of love. Out of the nendroids I have seen and owned, this has some of the prettiest details. The tiny “01” on the gloves and the diamonds on the socks are what really stood out to me. Not to mention ruffles and the ribbons underneath the skirt. Those finer details are well worth the wait because it shows that GSC cares about their product. It makes my heart swell, I tell you what.

Overall, as I said before, this nendroid was worth the delays and worth the money.  I paid about $42 (¥4200) which isn’t awful at all and if you ever get the chance to buy one, DO IT. You will weeb so hard, I guarantee or your money back. Anyways, if you would like to see/hear my weeb and unbox this precious figure, go ahead and watch the video down below!

Anyways that is it for today! I hope you enjoyed today’s post and video; if you have any comments or questions in regards to nendroids or this specific nendroid in general, feel free to leave a comment down below! With that said, have a wonderful week ahead of you and I will see you all next time!

Good Smile Racing & Team UKYO Racing Miku 2016 SQ Figure Unboxing

DID I STUTTER?

For real though, here’s that second post this week like I promised. ╭(♡・ㅂ・)و ̑̑

miku-figure-title

Let me tell you about how I found this figure!!!! Anthony told me about a local comic book store that also carried manga and figures near the IKEA I go to. There just so happened to be a day where I had to go to IKEA and we decided to kill some time at the comic book store he mentioned. LOAD AND BEHOLD MY GOOD READERS; the precious figure was just sitting on a shelf…staring at me in all of it’s glory. And needless to say…I bought it.

miku-figure-box

Shall we begin with the box? The box art is so ridiculously lovely and for some reason the partial color gives it (and me) a lot more life. ˚✧₊⁎( ˘ω˘ )⁎⁺˳✧༚ The side art features the same artwork as the front but full scale. The other side features the name of the item. On the side; lots of tape, bubble and plastic wrap, and cardboard. This figure it so snug and protected, I love it.

miku-figure-assemble

Every necessary part of the figure was wrapped in it’s own little plastic and a pain to open. However, assembling the figure was actually quite easy and not to strenuous. The only difficult part I recall was inserting the hand, but that only took like a minute I believe.

miku-figure

Let me be honest; this figure it gorgeous. With any Hatsune Miku figures, my main focus of detail is on the hair and oh my gosh it’s there. It does appear that because the hair has a few individual strands; they may break though the figure itself is plastic. The dress is painted wonderfully and the sponsors on the back are perfect with little to no error. The only issue I have with this figure is the feet; it looks as though the paint will cheap easier which kind of makes me a little “meh,” but not enough to regret purchasing her.

Overall; this figure was a good buy for only $35 though I could’ve purchased it cheaper elsewhere having done my research. She’s made a lovely edition to my figure collection and overall Vocaloid collection. If you are interested in purchasing; I found her for $20 on Amazon! Here is the link! Anyways, that wraps it up for this post. I hope you guys enjoyed and I shall see you next time~! (°◡°♡).:。

Love Live! Nishikino Maki “Sunny Day Song” SPM Figure Unboxing

Hello~!

I accidentally took too long in posting again…crap. (╬ ꒪Д꒪)ノ I’m sorry guys; I let time get the best of me again. But I’ll have two posts this week so there’s a plus! Anyways, I couple weeks ago I was able to get my hands on a wonderfully adorable figure of my Love Live! bias and I took pictures of me opening it. TA-DA.

love-live-figure-title

Ah, yes. My main bae; Nishikino Maki. The store I go to for many things Korean and Japanese started carrying LEGIT (I emphasize this because some of the stores in California carried awful fakes…) figures and goods and when I saw her, I just couldn’t walk away without her. The weeb in me was let out in full force as I rushed to the check out counter. (⁎⁍̴̀﹃ ⁍̴́⁎)♡ It was a beautiful moment.

love-live-figure-box

Let’s begin with the box and what not. The box art itself is quite cute although not entirely my aesthetic to be honest. The front of the box features the figure with Maki posed and in position. The side art features of profile view of Maki from the anime. The back of the box had information that wasn’t exactly necessary for pictures. The inside of the box had Maki nicely wrapped in bubble wrap and cardboard.

love-live-figure-assemble

This what she looked like after being removed from said box. If I remember correctly; assembling her took a little bit of work because although it’s literally two pieces…the holes where you insert the tags in her feet weren’t cooperating and I couldn’t get both in at the same time. HOWEVER. I somehow managed to do it and I can’t even remember how. (๑•̀ㅂ•́)و✧

love-live-figure

After assembling her; I was awestruck at the amount of details. The pleats and folds are what got me the most. She’s a sturdy figure for sure which is good especially if you’re clumsy like myself. (๑•́‧̫•̀๑) I think the item I love most about her is the transparent fabric over her skirt which they did so beautifully.  It really made me love the figure just a tad more.

Overall; it was definitely worth the amount of money I spent which I recall was about $35 but I could be mistaken. If you’d like to purchase the doll, I found it on Amazon for $27! Here is the link! This is a great item for anyone who loves Love Live! or just Nishikino Maki. Definitely a good purchase. Anyways, I hope you guys enjoyed this post! Like I said; another post is on the way this week so please be on the look out. Also, I have a trip to Charleston coming up again so if you’d like to see a blog post or a vlog, please let me know in the comments down below. With that said I hope you have a wonderful rest of your week! I’ll see you next time~!!!

Current Favorites + December 2016 +

Hello Everyone & Happy 2017!

I’m sorry I didn’t do the “annual” new years post this year…I had sincerely thought about it but I just couldn’t get into the spirit of it. 2016 was a difficult year for me and although I tried not to let it get in the way of me blogging and filming, it did decrease my motivation substantially for a good portion of the year. But I feel that this year I will try to take better care of myself in terms of physical and mental health. But I do want to say; thank you guys so so much for spending 2016 with Simply Taylor Rae. 2017 marks my 5th year of blogging and I’m not too sure whether to celebrate or just spend the year finding my “identity” and keeping it calm. Either way; you guys ultimately kept me going and I appreciate everything you do. Thank you.

Anyways, here’s to the first post of 2017 and the many more that will follow!

title

December was a really weird month for favorites; I kind of started changing my thinking and taste in many things but I still hope you all enjoy the post. By the way, please enjoy looking at my incredibly nosy doge who likes to bust in when I take pictures.

+ POKEMON SUN & MOON +
pokemon

Ya’ll know I was excited for this release and it was worth the wait entirely. Pokemon Sun and Moon have really brought about a well needed change to the franchise; instead of gyms, there are trials where you get Z-crystals rather badges. Many cute Pokemon have been introduced as well…but shiny hunting has become a pain in my butt I tell you what. Overall though, I really really loved this game and although it took me a wee bit to finish it; so so worth.

+ADIDAS SHOES+
blargh

During our trip to California, Anthony bought me a pair of new Adidas shoes for our anniversary and I love them. They are quite comfortable to walk in and are cute for many occasions including Disney Land. We got these for a pretty good price I believe and I’d definitely suggest them. They’re quite aesthetic in my honest opinion.

+DISNEY JIM SHORE FIGURINES+
disney

This is kind of what began my taste change…I had originally received the Minnie figurine from a very kind coworker and I adored it. So much to the point where I bought the Marie one because I just felt the need to buy another one. They are so cute and the small ones aren’t too expensive from the Hallmark store. I’m hoping once I get another shelf from IKEA, I can go and get a bigger figurine or two.

+MY BED+
bed

And finally, we come to the staple of my favorites. My bed. This seems so freakin’ depressing but I have literally felt a need to stay in bed a lot more lately. I know it’s probably part of my anxiety turning into a mild depression, but it has become kind of like a safe zone for me. I want to edit in my bed, I want to watch movies…IN MY BED. I want to play my video games from the comfort of my warm bed. And my dog only wants to love me and stay for cuddles on my bed. But yes…it’s sad, but my bed is possibly the number one thing on this list. *le sigh*

And that is it for today’s post! If you have anything you’ve enjoyed during December or have any suggestions on how to celebrate 5 years with Simply Taylor Rae; please let me know in the comments down below. I hope you guys had a wonderful and safe new years and I hope you have a wonderful rest of your week. ❤
