Pretty Guardians – Sailor Moon Fan Club – Make Up Lip Gloss Unboxing + Video

Hello my Lovely Pretty Guardians!

I hope you all had a very Merry Christmas yesterday! Mine was quite lovely and relaxing, thank goodness. Did you spend time with family or get some really great gifts or have any stories? I’d love to hear from you all in the comments down below! ₍՞◌′ᵕ‵ू◌₎♡

Anyways, the day after coming home from California, I went to pick up a package and was happy to see it was from Tokyo Otaku Mode which meant my Sailor Moon Fan Club package arrived!! So I did an unboxing photo shoot and video for you all. I hope you enjoy!

The package came with a certificate featuring the official fan club card along with a member exclusive lip gloss brooch based off the original manga and Sailor Moon Crystal brooch. Needless to say; I felt even more like a Moon Princess when I opened up the package. (⺣◡⺣)♡*

The box is incredibly gorgeous and aesthetically pleasing. It’s rather small and deceiving in terms of weight; it’s heavier than it appears which isn’t bad at all. The back has detailed information regarding the lip gloss. I’m very pleased with the packaging and have it displayed with the certificate.

Let me tell you; I didn’t have high expectations when it came to this lip gloss. It’s not because I lack faith in the company…but rather I’ve rarely purchased make up over the internet. So when I opened the box and held the brooch, I was happily surprised at the quality. It’s quite heavy in your hands and the “jewels” look very sturdy and won’t fall out any time soon. The back is nice and clean with a tiny sticker displaying minimal information. It brings back a lot of nostalgia and happiness from my childhood of reading the manga and watching the anime.

When opening up the brooch, you’re greeted with a lovely pastel pink colored gloss and a tiny mirror that I’d probably get little to no use out of. The lip gloss doesn’t have much a scent to it which is perfectly okay for me as I tend to have super sensitive skin. There isn’t really any tint to it also which is also fine with me. It does appear to give a very moisturized cover, so this may be appealing to those who prefer a shinier lip cover rather than matte.

Overall, I’m in love with this item. As a long time Sailor Moon fan, being a part of the Fan Club brings me so much joy and to have a chance to own items such as this is incredible and nostalgic to me. I’m thankful for the opportunity TOM brought to overseas fans to be a part of such a wonderful club. ٩(๑∂▿∂๑)۶♡

I hope you all enjoyed today’s post! I’m hoping to have either a new year’s post or a December favorites post by next week, so please be on the look out for that on the blog. I’m also hoping to have a Christmas Haul unboxing video on the YouTube channel by tomorrow! Have a wonderful last week of 2016 and I will see you next time!

Thanks for Reading~! ❤

Room Tour (๑́•∀•๑̀)ฅ

Hello Hello~!

I came to a realization after being on YouTube for hours one day…I’ve never done a room tour for you guys. I suppose a big part of it was that I didn’t feel my room was that great to share with people, but I’ve been reorganizing and putting in new furniture lately so I feel that I’m comfortable sharing my space with you guys. Finally. (๑•́ω•̀๑)

Room Tour Title

Just for grins and giggles; 95% of my room furniture is from IKEA. Other stuff varies from Target to Small Shops here and there. I don’t quite have a specific theme for my room, but I hope you all like it still!

Room Tour Bed

Let’s start with where the magic happens. ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°) And by magic I mean ridiculous amounts of sleep and staying away from the sun. Also…don’t let the large amount of pillows fool you; I only use two. In terms of specifics, I know I got the bed spread from Target. I’ve been on a really big white phase when it comes to decorating. I feel that white helps brighten an otherwise quite dark room like mine and it helps produce better pictures because it’s bright.

Room Tour TV stand

My TV stand is actually a bit awkward. I got with the mind set that it will be useful when I move out at the end of the year. Don’t get me wrong; it definitely will but I didn’t take the size of my SMOL TV into consideration so it looks a bit too big and awkward…so I only took pictures of the spots I liked. | ू*꒦ິ꒳꒦ີ)。oO

Room Tour Shelves

My favorite part of my room; my shelves. ❤ They hold my manga collection, my Vocaloid collection, Sailor Moon collection, and my slowly growing Card Captor Sakura collection. They are so bright and colorful and I adore them. Both of the shelves are from IKEA and were quite cheap! They hold so freakin’ much and you can adjust the height of each shelf and it’s magnificent. Absolutely adore them and I plan on getting a few more.

Sadly, the other pictures I took came out a tad weird because the settings on my camera are literally EVERYWHERE and I was heavily disappointed with how they came out. However, I did want to share some pictures I took while we were downtown last weekend! Hopefully that makes up for the rather short post. _:(´□`」 ∠):_ Anyways, I hope you all have an amazing weekend! I’ll see you next time. ❤ ❤ ❤

Current Faves +April 2016+

You guys.

This sudden burst of motivation…WHERE DID IT COME FROM? Oh yeah, I actually feel like being a productive adult today.

Anyways, today I thought it’s been a while since we’ve done a Current Faves post so ta-da~. ౧(*മ് ധമ്)੭ु⁾⁾

current faves title

I realized it’s been a couple of months since I did one of these and it wasn’t because of motivation. I just felt like I didn’t have anything really worth posting for this type of post, so I left it for a bit until I found some things that were different. AND I DID. Thank goodness. ( ಠωಠ)

current faves music

I’ve been a really weird music kick lately, and by that I mean…it’s not necessarily what I normally consider relaxing. But there’s one album that I’m constantly turning back to when I have a long playlist going. Say hello to “TOMOSUKE x Jazzin’park presents LANA.” This is album is a great story telling piece and there’s something about the vocals that keeps my nerves down and gets me in the mindset for work or being productive. My favorite songs on this album are actually remixes, but they’re on the album so it counts: 「キロクノカケラ (sasakure.UK Framework Remix)」and 「ヒトリノウタ (Hurt inside Remix)」. Honestly, I think the reason I fell in love with these remixes were because they were produced by well-known Vocaloid producers…“φʕ•ᴥ•oʔ

current faves book

This was a rather spring of the moment purchase…but I had the 2nd Graphics book but not the first. So this was necessary. ԅ(≖‿≖ԅ) This is the Hatsune Miku Graphics 1 book and I bought it at a Books A Million up north and it was such a blessed purchase. I love a lot of the artists in these graphic books so it’s awesome to see some of their previous work and unreleased work within these graphics books. It was a bit expensive though at $35 but I love Miku and I feel no shame from this.

current faves game

You know how there are those few games that bring out the worst in you? Sailor Moon Drops is definitely one of them and it brings out the absolute worst in me because at the end of my five freakin’ hearts, I want to throw my phone at every wall and window in the area. It’s a lot like Bejeweled except you have quests inside the puzzle. So not only are you trying to get a super awesome score, but you also have a certain amount of moves you can make and you gotta do other things on top of getting a high score. I am terrible at this game, but it’s so addictive and it’s Sailor Moon so you already know it’s staying on the phone. It takes me at least a day or two to get through a stage…ugh. #TaylorSucksAtSMD

current faves fashion

This is another random purchase from this past weekend. I wasn’t planning on buying a new bag, but I love LeSportsac because of the materials they use for their bags and they typically have really lovely prints such as this one. Unfortunately I cannot find the name for this specific print, BUT IF YOU DO KNOW; leave a comment down below! I’d love to know this print name. But anyways, I got it for a pretty big steal over at Marshall’s and what was once a $46 bag was $17 and I just couldn’t resist buying it. The smile on my face was creepy but I mean…cats #AmIRight?

AHAHAHAHA, that’s the end for this post ladies and maybe gents? I hope you enjoyed this easy going post and if you have any suggestions for the topics listed, go ahead and let me know in the comment section! And while you’re at it; if you actually liked this post then click the like button as well because you’re awesome. I hope you all have a magnificent rest of your week and until next time. BAI BAI.

We Review: Japan Crate DOKIDOKI Subscription Box January ’16

Hello Everyone!

How are you enjoying the new year thus far? I must say it’s treating me quite nicely; I officially began my new job and I absolutely love it! I’m a bit more busy since my schedule is Monday – Friday rather than Thursday – Monday, but it’s becoming a bit easier to manage. Anyways, a week ago I finally got my DOKIDOKI Japan Crate Box in the mail and actually opened it today and took pictures!

DISCLAIMER: I was not asked nor sponsored by Japan Crate to do this review. The subscription was entirely paid for by myself. Thanks for your understanding.

To be honest, I almost passed on this box. I talked myself into it after a co-worker told me about her Japan Crate subscription and how her daughter thoroughly enjoyed it. So I ended up purchasing a subscription and it arrived last Monday. (۶* ‘ꆚ’)۶” And I opened it today, so I’m gonna share what I got!

The package is a very pink box with white for lettering and what not. It’s actually quite sturdy in my opinion, it didn’t bend or crease in my mailbox. It’s so charming with little sayings such as 「大好き」and 「かわいいですね。」and cute characters decorating the inside of the box. I may be keeping it for future unknown uses!

Every Japan Crate box comes with a guide that explains the items you received in your package. This month was quite cute, with a pink hair girl with cute character-based items around her. They also have a photo contest and cute little comic featured in it!

The first item was a packet of Rilakkuma memo pads! I love cute stationary so this was actually well received. I don’t know when I will use it, but I’ll probably bring it to work where it’ll have better usage. (๑ˊ▵ॢˋ̥๑)

Who doesn’t like Domo-Kun? Japan Crate featured some really cute Domo stickers in this month’s crate and I absolutely adore them to bits. I might give a couple to friends who would enjoy them a bit more than me, but the egg one stays with Tay Tay.

Next up was this Baby Alpacasso! Although it’s incredibly adorable, I do have to say that this was a damaged item in my box…

The left eye was actually missing from my Alpaca and although it’s unfortunate, I’ll still use it for decoration with just the right side showing. (.`・﹏・´.) It’s still very cute and fluffy though!

This is actually one of my favorite items out of the box! They’re sushi socks! I wonder how they’ll look on my feet. They’re so cute but I’m not too sure what type of sushi they’re supposed to be. ┐(´・c_・` ;)┌ As long as they’re warm and comfy, I’m not going to be picky.

Yes. That is exactly what it is. Specifically, it’s the Pikachu Hip Pop Parade Plush and I absolutely love it. It is literally just Pikachu’s butt as a keychain and I don’t know when or where I am going to use this blessing but it will be used. ٩( ᐛ )و

I have no idea what this thing is…or what it is. Apparently, it’s called “Hoppe-chan” and it’s a blob that popular. I have no idea what to say or what I am going to do this it. It’s got a cute design but I’m absolutely clueless.

sailor moon

I am very familiar with this item! I’ve gotten quite a few in different series and such, but I was still so excited to receive one in this box. I ended up getting the Sailor Moon I was missing which was the face with the wink. It’s so cute and tiny, so you can place it in so many different places without having to worry about it taking up too much space like the huge figures.

hello kitty

I didn’t think that there’d be fashion accessories in this box for some reason, so this incredibly cute and sturdy Hello Kitty wallet kind of surprised me! It’s got two sides and both are quite adorable with pastel backgrounds. Unfortunately, this item was also damaged. The coin pouch zipper doesn’t work correctly and is essentially broken, so I’m not 100% sure if I’d use it… ( ˃̶͈ ̯ ̜ ˂̶͈ˊ ) ︠³

This is so cute and rather expected from a Japanese subscription box seeing as how these are quite popular in Japan. I’m not too familiar with Sentimental Circus but this is such a cute elephant and I suppose the fan will be rather useful further on into the year.

Overall, this box was rather cute and a few items I really enjoyed. I was a bit disappointed that two of the items were damaged and some of the items were just kind of bland, but maybe it’ll get better. I renewed my subscription for next month so we shall see how it goes. └(・-・)┘

PicMonkey Collage

I hope you all enjoyed this post! It was rather long…sorry! I wanted to show you everything in the box, I didn’t realize how much was in it until after the fact. I’ll be sure to share the next box with you all and hopefully it’ll be a tad better.

If you received a DOKIDOKI subscription box from Japan Crate, feel free to tell me your experience down in the comment section!

Anyways, I hope you all have a wonderful rest of your week! Please be safe if you’re experiencing a lot of snow!!!!

The Geeky: 2015 Holiday Gift Guide

Well Hello Everyone!

Oh no guys, it’s almost Christmas and if you’re like me…you like to do that little thing you learned in school at an early age.

Oh yes, the concept is a lovely one. But have no fear, I’ve devised a lovely list of perfect gifts for the lovely ladies in your life.

holiday gift guide

Ah, yes. Who’s ready for some incredibly cute, geeky, and classy gifts!? Tay Tay sure is. ೕ(⁍̴̀◊⁍̴́ฅ) This year we are going to go through each of the STR categories; Fashion, Geeky, Beauty, & Food. ARE YOU READY!? Let’s do this.

You guys already know how big of a Star Wars nerd I am and this year, ModCloth has the cutest Change Purse with Greatest Pun of a Name: Be the Change Purse you Wish to C-3PO. For $19.99, you can get that awesome Star Wars nerd in your life some flippin’ style just in time for the new Star Wars movie release! I am personally loving it like crazy.

Oh my, yes yes yes to this. This is a bit more expensive than 99% of the items I’ve posted on the blog before, but believe me…it’s worth it. I’m talking about that beautiful New Nintendo 3DS XL from GameStop. At the tender price of $199.99, you can experience faster processing while playing phenomenal games such as Super Smash Bros. and Animal Crossing: Happy Home Designer. I recently got one as an early anniversary/Christmas gift from Anthony and I LOVE IT. I highly recommend this for the gamer who ignores you. (I mean, why not right?)

You guys know I couldn’t do a gift guide without something Sailor Moon, right? ∠( ᐛ 」∠)_ And guess who just found a seller for the BEAUTIFUL and limited edition Creer Beaute Sailor Moon Make Up Powder? You guess it; YesStyle.Com! I’m not one to wear make up but if I could open up that gorgeous broach every day, I’d consider it greatly…or just keep it to look at and stare. This lovely powder will be a bit pricey at $66.90, but I’m sure the Sailor Moon loving fangirl in your life will adore you and it FOREVER. Just saying.

Finally, we’ve reached my favorite subject; Food. Although you’ll probably be eating loads of food on Christmas Day; why not give the wonderful gift of reading and teaching via a cookbook? I’d highly recommend Shirley Wong’s “Kawaii Bento” cookbook which you can purchase on Amazon. For $23.01, your friend can make the most ridiculously adorable food that you’d regret eating because it’s that freakin’ cute. Pair it with a cute lunch box or bento box, and I’d think you got a marvelous gift idea on your hands.

Well, I think this year’s holiday gift guide was an incredible success! I hope this helps you in some way, shape, or form. (Quite frankly, I’m tempted to spoil myself on a couple of these items…whoops.) If you have any gift ideas or have purchased these bad boys before, drop a comment down below! I love to hear from you all. ღゝ◡╹)ノ♡ I hope you all have a wonderful Thanksgiving Holiday and a very safe Holiday weekend! Next week, I think I’m going to do a more personal post. There’s a lot going on here and I really just want to share it with you all. Anyways, take care guys!

The Geeky: 2014 Holiday Gift Guide

Why hello there everyone!

For the past two years I have done a quick holiday gift guide to help you shop for the geeks in your life! Today I’m following the annual tradition and this year’s guide is geared toward the ladies in your life. From jewelry to home decor, here are five items that make perfect and adorable gifts for your girl friend, female friend, maybe even your mom.

hatsune miku bag

Let’s face it, many ladies love purses and backpacks. Plus they make the perfect gift for the holidays.  If you have a Hello Kitty or Vocaloid fan in your life, this bag is definitely a must!  This is Hot Topic‘s “Hatsune Miku x Hello Kitty Hobo Bag” is reasonably priced and on sale for $14.63~! If you really want to fancy up a bag gift then stuff some fun or delicious things inside! It’ll be a cute surprise for the recipient!

luna p cushion

Who doesn’t like a little something to spruce up their living space?  With all of the Sailor Moon products being released this product is probably one of my favorites (that I have yet to purchase…)!  This product is JList‘s “Luna P Ball 1/1 Beads Cushion” it’s a wee bit expensive at $35 plus shipping, from Japan, BUT if your recipient is a huge Sailor Moon fan then this gift is beyond perfect. Also this product brings a ridiculous wave of nostalgia!

ack-bar tee

You can never go wrong with buying a T-shirt as a gift. It’s simple, cost effective and can make some feel as if though you know them all too well.  This year I have a shirt for ALL of you Star Wars nerds! Say hello to ThinkGeek‘s “Ack – Bar Ladies’ Tee” and it’s priced oh so lovely at $19.99. Who doesn’t love Admiral Ackbar and corny puns? Maybe with some added chocolate on this side this gift will surely be out of this world in a galaxy far, far away.

pikachu mug

This year has been the year of Pokemon, and, I am loving it. If your lady has bought it then she is rocking one of the new Pokemon ORAS games. Why not buy her a cute mug to drink hot chocolate or coffee from while they spend about 10 hours a day trying to collect all 8 gym badges and catch all of the legendaries? This mug is the Pokemon Center‘s “Pikachu Big Face Coffee Mug” and it goes for $14.95! You can place a hot chocolate packet with a candy cane and some popcorn inside side to spruce it up a bit! Tis an easy yet awesome gift, yes?

roam necklace

Ah, yes. Statement jewelry made a wonderful…statement…this year! And here is a clever statement for the Wanderlust laden lady in your life: ModCloth‘s “No Place Like Roam Necklace”! It’s slightly expensive at $29.99, but it’s sure to bring a smile to that wonderful lady’s face as she lets her eyes roam over the map set in the necklace itself! It’s a stunning gift that is sure to catch some glances and make them wander!

Miku Expo 2014 & New York Haul

‘Ello ‘Ello!

I hope you all enjoyed the photo journal of our time in New York at Miku Expo! If you couldn’t tell, we had a freakin’ blast!! Although our time in New York was relatively short we still managed to pick up a few items that I thought we’d share with you all! All of the items were purchased by us with no discount offered or given.

I had and intended to purchase more items, however many things were sold out. Things like the Halloween Miku Nendroid and a lot of the concert merchandise. The items listed were the few remaining concert merchandise, exclusives of the VIP package, or purchased from f.y.e.

This was one of the two items Anthony had purchased for me when we first entered the venue. This shirt was a Miku Expo exclusive with a chibi anime design. Anthony was able to get it in a size medium since the small was already sold out. It’s actually quite a quality screen print and is comfortable to wear with jeans and sneakers/boots. It wasn’t too outrageously priced either at $25.

Miku Keychain

Here is the other item Anthony was able to purchase. It has the same chibi design as the t-shirt, only this time it is fully colored. I love the gold metal. It gives the keychain an overall classier look than a silver chain. Along with the picture of Miku, there is a metal “M” beside the picture that has a tiny rhinestone at the bottom. This was also reasonably priced at $10 I believe.

This was an item that came exclusively with the VIP package for the concert.  It is a functional record with the Miku Expo theme song “Sharing the World”.  Along with both the chibi anime art design on theback and, onthefront, the Miku Expo theme design. Since I don’t have a record player, I will more than likely frame this and hang it or put it on display.

VIP Badge

Another VIP exclusive that was given to us at the end of the show. Nothing much to say except it will be hung up on display.

The final item included in the VIP package was a Miku Expo Fan. It is made with fabric rather than flimsy paper making it a bit more longer lasting. The artwork featured is different than that used for other merchandise, but it is still incredible to look at. I will also be placing this on display.

Rin and Len

These are actually a funny story. Anthony predicted that a lot of the items, if not all, would be sold out by the end of the concert and holy crap he was right. All they had left were Rin & Len plushes which I bought three: 2 Rin & 1 Len. The second Rin is for a friend who couldn’t go to the concert and the other two are currently being displayed on my lovely desk. They were quite expensive at $20 a plush, but hey…you only get Miku Expo exclusives once in a lifetime right? Maybe? Yes?

This was actually a post-concert pick up in DC. We had about 45 minutes before we were picked up from the train station, so we made our way back to f.y.e.. I decided to purchase a Miku lanyard to make up for the lack of items I bought in New York. It’s quite cute with a chibi Miku design along with the logo. I am currently hanging it from my car/house keys. I believe it was $8, so not too terrible I suppose.

SM Keychain

Despite the Miku Madness I was facing I managed to purchase something Sailor Moon! This is the Moon Stick rubber keychain and I found it ridiculously adorable…so I bought it for about $6. It is currently hanging on my new backpack. I always loved the Moon Stick in the anime and so I think this will work quite well.

Welp, that’s everything I bought in the 24 hours that I was traveling! I hope you all enjoyed today’s post and I am dying to hear what you all thought of yesterday’s and today’s posts! If you went to Miku Expo in LA or NY feel free to leave a comment in either post down below! Let me know what you thought and if you weren’t able to attend I am willing to answer any questions you all may have. If you would like to suggest topics for future posts, please hit the “contact” button above and fill out the form! As always, have a great week/weekend and like always…

SimplyMe: Finals, Birthdays, Reading, And WHAT!?

Hello everyone!
I cannot believe how lethargic I have been feeling lately. Actually, no. I can believe it because I’m neglecting my blog…whoops. Sorry guys. Right now, I am currently dealing with a full-time work schedule, homework, studying for next week’s finals, prepping for my final semester, and trying to get at least one day a week where I can just sleep in and rest. It’s proving difficult, but I am trying really hard to keep up! Just one more week!

Welp, yes. I am indeed studying for my Japanese and Oceanography finals next week and the struggle is real. I will be 100% honest: I suck at exams and I suck at science, so one of those subjects is a double whammy. I am trying my hardest to find any motivation possible to study, but then I think of something else and that becomes a priority. I have found ways to help me enjoy studying, but actually getting to study is most difficult. Le sigh…

turd bday

On a happier note, my little sister’s birthday was this past week and we ended up at Bahama Breeze in Woodbridge.  She turned 19 years old and we brought our family and her boyfriend’s family together! And guess what, the STR Crew’s Kyler was there! Huzzah.

Finally, I guess I will show you guys what I’ve been reading as of late! I was thinking about doing a separate post on this, but I have some other ideas floating in my head so I’ll show them to you now!

First up is “The Console Wars” by Blake J. Harris. Ever since I saw YouTuber, TheJWittz, tweet about this book, I was immediately intrigued. I am a huge video game fan and my favorite thing about video games is the history behind them as well as the easter eggs and glitches that plague them. “The Console Wars” focuses on the Sega v. Nintendo wars and although the book is pretty lengthy, it’s incredibly detailed and a fantastic read for all you gamer nerds. I highly recommend reading it!

Next is the manga 「きのこいぬ」or “Mushroom Pup”. Now, I had picked this up on a complete whim and I do not regret it. It’s far from my personal taste in manga, but it ended up being something new, refreshing, and ridiculously adorable. It’s a bit difficult to explain the premise, but I suggest reading it if you’re looking for a light comic.

Finally, I ended up picking up two copies of Otaku USA! Why? Because Sailor Moon is on the cover, duh. Why else would I purchase a magazine? Actually, I purchased it to showcase in my room…so I expect to frame it sometime soon. If I’m correct, this is the first US magazine cover Sailor Moon has graced since the original series arrived in America.

Well, that’s it for today’s post! I hope you enjoyed this little update on my incredibly overwhelming lifestyle. More intriguing posts are to come, I promised! As always though, I’d love to hear what you think so feel free to comment down below and if you’d like to recommend post ideas, please hit the contact button above. I hope you all have a fantastic weekend and like every week…

Sailor Moon Crystal Reaction & Videos

Well hello there!
Holy crap! I haven’t posted in over a week. I’m so sorry everyone! It’s been ridiculously busy lately and to top everything off…my car decided it needed a tuneup this week, so I had been taking care of that and what not. But hey, I’m a full-time student and a full-time employee now. Whoop. That’s been my life in a nutshell as of late.

P.S. This Post will Feature Spoilers!

SMC Reaction

Anyways, in case you haven’t read my previous Sailor Moon posts or looked at any of my social media accounts…SAILOR MOON CRYSTAL FINALLY PREMIERED and my life has been changed for the better. Two years after the initial announcement and a year’s worth of delay we finally got the reboot we’ve been waiting for on Saturday and yes, my amazing friend and newest member of the STR Crew, Ambrozine, decided we would film our initial reaction! So, you should watch it:

Seeing as how it’s been a few days since the premier, I’ve found myself in a calm position to tell you all why I thought this reboot was fantastic.

First of all, let me take you back to when we had received the artwork teasers.

shoujo legs

And I loved it.

There are a lot of people who would beg to differ, but the artwork was gorgeous to me. It was modern and sharp, bright and bold and most of all…it was different. I remember reading the initial announcement regarding the anime and the one thing that stood out the most was that Sailor Moon Crystal was not a remake, but rather a reboot that was meant to stand alone from the original 90’s series. And the artwork reflected just that.

Afterwards, I had nothing but high hopes and expectations.

Next thing you know, July 5th has arrived and the world premier of Sailor Moon Crystal had begun. I’ll admit, I had a minor fear: “What if it’s not as good as I hope?” “What if it is only hype and it turns out to be everything I hated about anime?” But, I managed to keep an open mind, once again reminding myself that this is to stand apart from the original.

And holy crap, it did.

The animation was everything I had seen and much more. The background music was glorious, the opening theme was glorious, the ending theme was glorious. IT WAS ALL JUST SO FREAKIN’ GLORIOUS. I couldn’t contain my excitement for what I was seeing! It really did appear as it had in the manga and all the small details as well such as the star locket or Mamoru’s tuxedo when he and Usagi first meet. The title cards are so ridiculously gorgeous, I want to tattoo all of them to my soul.

The only thing that I was kind of hit me in a weird way was the transformation sequence. I wasn’t sure about the whole CG kind of deal…I mean, it wasn’t bad but I don’t suppose I was expecting it either. I know there are a lot of people who are really upset about it, but it’s just a sequence that will be shortened anyhow. It doesn’t make or break the series. BOOM.

I thought I’d just drop this off here! Our good friend, Roger from Tainted Reality, has recently uploaded two new Sailor Moon videos, but this one is a definite watch for those of us who were SM Fans since the 90’s! So go ahead and give it a watch and his review of SMC Act 1!

So, there you have it! My reaction to the premier of Sailor Moon Crystal. And hey, a new video on the STR YT Channel…can you tell I’m attempting to be productive?? Anyways, I’d really enjoy hearing your thoughts on today’s post or your thoughts/feelings about Sailor Moon Crystal in the comments down below! The Geeky: Sailor Moon Crystal is US Bound!?

Why Hello There!
…You guys. I have a serious problem. I AM OBSESSED WITH SAILOR MOON. In the 15 years I’ve been a fan, I feel that me having money and the gracious amount of attention span has encouraged me to bring back ALL of the childhood memories. It’s gotten so bad that I even bought the omnibus versions of Cardcaptor Sakura. SOMEONE STOP ME. Actually, please don’t. I’m having way too much fun.

ANYWAYS, there’s a lot of news in regards to Sailor Moon Crystal that I thought I’d update you on what we have thus far since my last post on the subject! So, why don’t we start?
sailor moon news 2Release News:

DVD/Blu-Ray Release News:

  • This will include the English Dub and original Japanese Dub.

  • The series will be Uncut and Remastered just as they aired in Japan. They are also Uncensored.

That’s pretty much the technical news until July 5th! Since my last post, they have revealed the inner senshi character profiles which included a look at the animation…
sailor moon animationIf you compared this to the Original series, this is incredibly different! I remember saying that I wanted the animation to resemble that of the original series, but I can see why they went this route. If you think about it, these profiles closely resemble that of the manga but also resemble a lot of today’s modern anime. The original series was made in 1992+, so they art style was a lot more rounder and shoujo animes had a certain look to them. Crystal’s art style is a bit more detailed and has a sharper look to it. I was shocked at first, but looking at it now…I actually quite like it! (Especially Usagi’s hair! Holy crap you guys.)

I already expressed my wants from the new series…BUT I have a few more:

Sailor Moon Crystal Expectations:

  • Mamoru with Glasses. PLEASE.
  • Accurate Ages! (Usagi is 14 & Mamoru is 17 in the Manga.)
  • Meaningful Filler Episodes if Necessary.
  • Accurate Depiction of Usagi & Mamoru’s Relationship.
  • Pea Green Jacket & Lavender Pants for Mamoru.

I think my list is rather reasonable…

Anyways, that is it for tonight! It’s almost MIDNIGHT, WHAT HAPPENED TO THE TIME!? I hope all you Moonies found this helpful! I know there’s a lot of Sailor Moon merchandise being released as well and there is a helpful website for that: SailorMoonCollectibles.Com! Literally, there’s a list of all the Japanese releases and what websites ship the items internationally! That’s how I managed to purchase the Japanese Complete Edition of the SM Manga.

I’m excited to hear what you all have to say! If you have any expectations, opinions, thoughts, or anything dealing with Sailor Moon Crystal, leave a comment down below!! If you’d like to suggest ideas for future posts, please click on the Contact Button above!

With all of that said, have a fantastic rest of the week everyone! I hope you enjoyed your Memorial Day as I did, stay safe and sound, and as always…
